Mistake on Bills sent to 4S Ranch Residents

City of San Diego Erroneously Bills 4S Ranch Residents for Fire Alarm Program

In December, the City of San Diego sent out a letter regarding the Fire Alarm Program it was implementing to cover the “on-oging issue of excessive false alarms within our City”. The fee for the program is $18 for 2 years. The only problem? 4S Ranch is not in the City of San Diego and is not serviced by the City Fire Department. 4S Ranch is under county jurisdiction and is serviced by the Rancho Santa Fe fire department.
So, to have your address removed from the database and avoid the fee, send an email to firealarmsclerk@sandiego.gov and give them your address and the “Permit Pre-Registration Number” from the first page of the notice you received. Tell them you are not in the City of San Diego and fall under the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department.

New School taking shape between 4S Ranch and Del Sur

New School for K-8 Set to Open 2014

Due to the overcrowding at Stone Ranch and Monterey Ridge Elementary Schools and quickly growing populations at Oak Valley Middle and Del Sur Elementary, the Poway Unified School District has added plans for a 39th campus.  The school will teach grades K-8 and is the first such school in Poway Unified. 

The current plan is for a village type structure with 5 buildings of 2 stories each surrounding an administration building.  Each floor would have 5 classrooms and teach 150 students for a total student population of 1,500.

There is no current budget for the construction of the school, but all expenses are expected to be covered from existing CVDs (Mello-Roos).  For more information, check out the article in the Pomerado News.

Church Site Being Planned in 4S Ranch

4S Ranch Community Opposing new “Mega Project”

Members of the 4S Ranch community are joining together to fight the development of a Church and school complex immediately west of 4S Ranch (the site is on a 9 acre plot currently in escrow between Salviati (Santa Fe Valley), 4S Ranch, La Vina and the Fire Station. Community members have formed a group called 4S SFV MPAC 94S Santa Fe Valley Mega-Project Abatement Coalition and have set up a website to build support.

Based on the organization’s web site, the official plans that have been submitted for the project show the developer to be Harper Communities Inc. and the project is labeled “Santa Fe Valley Chinese Church”.

A quick look at the plans shows the site to be comparible in size to the Maranatha Christian School campus on the west side of Santa Fe Valley with more buildings and a higher level of visibility from street level. 

Issues that the group is concerned with include:  Re-zoning, Excessive size, Environmental, Traffic, and Safety.   The group is actively recruiting 4S Ranch and Santa Fe Valley home owners to help contest the planned project.  If you are interested in participating, please visit their web site.

4S Ranch 4th of July Bike Parade

We are happy to be organizing and hosting the 4S Ranch Bike Parade again this year. This event is not part of the HOA schedule as it started with a bunch of parents putting it on several years ago. We will hold it again at the 4S Ranch Community Park next to the Boys & Girls Club.
We will be out there at 8:00 with donuts and coffee. The parade and games will start at 9:00.

Welcome to 4S Ranch

We moved into 4S Ranch in 2003 with a desire to raise our family and run our business here. We were drawn to the neighborhood by all it has to offer from great schools and parks to miles of trails for hiking and biking.

As 4S Ranch has grown, we have taken great pride in being part of that growth. Living here in 4S as it has grown from a few hundred homes to a few thousand has given us a great perspective and working knowledge of the community, its strengths and personalities. Working with the Boys & Girls Club, sponsoring teams & fields, or helping to start Foundations that fill the needs of 4S Ranch, we have taken great satisfaction in helping 4S grow.

By far the best part about being involved in 4S Ranch is the friendships we have developed as we have helped people find their homes.
